How much more notice were you expecting? 4 weeks notice is very good. Also, a bonus should never be expected. You should've prepared for these things better. No job is guaranteed forever.

OP here. I just came back here after about a week. PP I'm sorry you are having trouble finding another position. I hope you find one soon.

I ended up giving my nanny a little over 1 week oi pay to make it a round number.

One weeks pay (single rate) is fine and maybe write her a recommendation letter or agree to be a reference.

When she started with you, did she expect to be employed for longer? Did you have a contract for a year? Personally, I would never take a position that I did not expect to last for years. If she was expecting the position to last longer, then I would give a bigger bonus. A minimum of one week’s pay, butmore if she both deserves it and you can afford it.

I think a week's pay for her single rate would be very kind of you.

My nanny's last day is this Friday. I would like to pay her a bonus as a think you. She has only been working for me since November 2018. What do you think is an appropriate amount? We were in a share situation until this last month. For this last month I've had with just my little guy. Should it be a week's pay for her single rate, a weeks' pay at the share rate? Another amount? Thanks.
