Just mute the thread and get to it when you want to( not something IPhone exclusive) Sending a text is more practical than emailing to most for short discussions. It’s been 5 years and you’re complaining about this?

I am direct with people. I tell them: texting is only for my own family. everyone else: emails. Thank you.

If you already been straight forward and she still hasn’t stop texting, keep her ringtone on silent. If there’s an emergency, simply tell her the late texting has been disturbing your sleep (that’s why you asked her to stop texting late), so you didn’t see it. I’m sure that will make her stop texting late. My families would do that and I just stopped responding and put them on DND. One time the needed me earlier and I said, oh sorry, I’ve been turning my phone on DND because of late texters- I am not on call nor do I get paid for it. I respond between my contract hours only.

Block her in off hours or just ignore. Tell her that you will no longer answer her in your off hours

Op- I want to keep my phone on for actual emergencies, not just my boss wants me to pick up shredded cheese tomorrow emergencies.

I’ve been with my nanny family 5+ years and love my job EXCEPT that MB will text me all the time on my off hours, even 11pm. I’ve asked her to email etc but she doesn’t listen. So, now I purchased a silent ringtone for 1.99 in the App Store and now her ring and text tones are silence. Ive had it that was for the past 6 months and it’s glorious. Now I’m not woken up at 3am Brazil time because MB wants to tell me something unimportant. I’d like to put her on a normal ringtone for emergencies, but I’m not willing to get woken up once a week from her late texts. I always put her on normal ringtone when I’m working, obviously. I’d like to just keep it that way so I’ve been trying to ‘train’ her. When she emails, I reply immediately. For a text, I will reply 2-3 hours later or next day if I’m off work. I reply timely during working hours, of course. She’s not really getting the hint. Any strategies? I’ve told her so many times but she doesn’t respect my off time.
