I really don’t understand these stupid moms that keep kids in diapers past 3 or more
Most kids are out of diapers by then, most schools require 3 year olds to be potty trained
I’d put him down, open the diaper , wipe him quickly, them cover his pipi with new diaper and then take dirty one off in the back and out new one on, that’s how I learned it with babies after being peed on a bunch

Changing his diaper while he is standing is a great suggestion. In the bathroom and behind him. You’ll get the hang of standing diaper changes after doing a couple. It’s a great way to change older and special needs kids.
OP here.
I'd say that's at least somewhat possible. Although honestly, he's a very good kid. He and his brother have been absolute sweethearts, from day 1. I'm not saying it's impossible--but judging by how he reacts, when this happens (surprised, upset, apologetic, etc) It seems unlikely.
I've never actually tried a diaper change while standing. Is it simple enough to do?

Montessori method is standing diaper changes in the bathroom. No three-year-old should be laying down for a pee change.

My former boss wouldn’t let me do it till boys were older than 4, it was disgusting
OP here,
Unfortunately this isn't my call. Mom is beyond stubborn with this.
Frankly, even if we were able, I don't really feel like shouldering the burden of getting the kid trained. He's an absolute sweetheart, but I can tell day to day how far he is from potty training. Truthfully, my main concern for the time being is simply to not get peed on anymore.![]()
Then the above. Standing diaper change in the bathroom from behind him.
+1. And he is three. Tell him not to pee until his diaper is back on.
