What county are you in? Most police depts around here don't do reports for minor accidents, especially when one party has already left the scene.

Also, the other driver did leave. She didn't call me right away, only after the driver had left, but I did as her to call police and initiate the report.

OP here and thank you. It was off duty driving to an ill-scheduled morning class (which I didn't agree to given that it bumps l against child care hours and has the potential to cause AP to rush drop off). It sounds minor and as though she was not at fault, but I am waiting for the police report.

Accidents don't need to be reported to the agency. Fault doesn't matter.

If you repair it she is liable to pay a portion of your deductible subject to your AP agency's rules, if she was not on duty, though you might not have to pay it if the other driver was at fault. And you can choose not to charge her the deductible.

Good for you for having her stay to the police arrived. A lot of times the other driver tries to brush it off and get out of there.

Hi all, when crossing through a blinking red stoplight on a 45 mph road (light is usually working but was out due to power loss) a car rear ended AP. She says she is fine. Car appears to be fine. My instinct is to have her get checked by a doctor anyway. I also wonder if I need to notify the agency?

Sounds like it was not at all her fault. I had her stay and file a police report just in case.

Am I missing anything?
