I worked with a family for 4 years and when I left they got me a picture frame with their handprints stamped all over the mat in black and gray with a picture of us in the middle. Best gift I’ve ever gotten.

My last day is tomorrow and I got a gift for the parents, for my charge and a toy for a dog.
I know they will love them

I always gift down - not up.

Perhaps pick out a special book you know the kids will enjoy.
For the parents, if you feel you MUST give something, then a nice photobook w/pictures of the last three years would be great.
Or a photo mug, T-shirt or calendar.

I do nice letters for my employers and if the child(ren) are old enough I do the same for them, as well as a new book.

I’ll have to think of something for the parents but thanks for the suggestion on the kids- a nice toy and/or a book. Over the years, I’ve done enough gifts with pictures for bdays and Christmas.. signing off.

I am a nanny. I agree the gits go down and not up but I always make sure to say thank you to my employers for the time spent together (especially if they've been nice to me).

What I usually do is give my charges a gift. Usually it's something sentimental like a book of pictures from our adventure together + a toy or book I know they will enjoy.

We also do a special outing on the last day together.

Gift giving goes down not up. Employee does not give gifts to employers.

No, not for my employers. I give my charges a gift - something special like a photo album or a stuffed animal with special meaning to us. I see all my former charges regularly so I am always more interested in giving them something that tries to make the best of our new limited-time relationship.
