Is it “job creep”? I don’t think it is. If the nanny is expected to do a child’s laundry, is that laundry confined to only what the child wears in the nanny’s presence?

Washing two overnight bottles is no big deal. And if the parents have always done it, there is no “creep” involved.


This. I would feel some sympathy for parents they are up all night feeding 6/7 bottles but you do you

Washing bottles from overnight is not at all job creep, it is part of the job! Dishes from the parents’ dinner would be job creep.

6-7 bottles, no. 1 or 2, yes. I’ve never ended my shift without fulfilling my duties, so the kitchen is left the same way I arrived each day and we’ve never had an issue.

Not a troll. I’ve been with my same family for 8 years, because washing a few extra bottles doesn’t bother me. But you do you, and continue to not pick and job hop.

Typical in every job I’ve had. Bottles turn into the kids’ dinner dishes from the night before. So long as it is just children’s items I’m okay with it.

Mom here. We sometimes leave dishes in the sink overnight (a few randomly, certainly not the whole previous night's worth) and our nanny will stick them in the dishwasher if she gets to the sink before we do. On the same note, if she is rushed in the afternoon and doesn't get the dishes (kids' lunches, bottles, etc) done before she leaves, we stick them in the dishwasher.

Not a big deal either way. If I were you, I would just wash the bottles.
