I have never worked for a family that didn’t expect me to come in with sick kids. I wear a mask if it’s really bad. But I’m glad you’re not going in!

Also, have you given them some recommended food choices? I would tell them
That they may want to limit dairy, but anything that the child(ren) will eat is fine.

Brat is outdated. Simple foods, but not that simple.

Great to hear that. Stay healthy and strong. Eat well and keep up on your drinking lots of water.

Yes, definitely take pto. Sounds like lots of mayhem in that house.

Saturday I sat for my charges for a date night. Sunday morning mb tells me the 4 yr old is sick with a stomach virus. This morning I’m texting with her and and asking if she had been keeping him in his room as much as possible and not in main areas. Especially away from the one year old. She starts with this “well he seems fine now but just keeping him home”. I arrive and he is in the main family room playing. I usually give them an iPad and make them stay in their rooms away from each other when they are ill. Db left Sunday and returned today from day trip and mb was going oot Tuesday morning until Friday. At this point she was still planning to leave and even went to work instead of staying to help with the sick one so I could focus on healthy ones.

I TEXT THEM tonight to check on the 4 yr old and they tell me they gave him cereal and milk for dinner ( *rolls eyes* why not the BRAT diet?) and DB is sick now too, so mb will not leave because he can’t watch them at night when I go home. Great. So now I’m getting texts that the 1 yr old and 7 yr old are also sick and throwing up.

I’m sorry but what would you all do? I have stomach issues as it is and really don’t want this. I’ve been good about cleaning and hand washing but the 1 year old doesn’t walk so I’ve played with him a lot and held him. I have a good immune system and never even had the flu but gastro things seem to love me and hit me hard.

Should I tell her I prefer to take pto and not get re exposed? I saw them Saturday and I’m still ok. I almost can’t believe she even expects me to come in that house in the morning. They all need to just stay there together and get better.

What would you guys do?
