Can she ask for a change of status and just stay and wait for the Graduation? A lot of the Brazilian APs ask for a change of status to a visitor visa and they can stay until they ear back from the DoS. So they fill the form, pay the fees and wait for it to be processed. Sometimes It take a while but after they receive the letter acknowledging that the Dos Received their request they can stay legally until they hear back (At least that is what I was told). FYI I know they all do that not sure if that is the correct way to do it, just giving you some ideas

Our Dutch AP came to visit in February after departing the country in August ... so ~6/7 months later.
She didn't have any issues getting her ESTA but she did get pulled aside for extra questioning at Immigration with a "have fun!" sendoff after the questions.

She needs to have her esta of course + proof of a return flight ticket and I would also give a letter to her and your contact info that proves she is coming back for your son's graduation.
Maybe they'll stop her at the immigration and will call you to check if that's true. She has to be ready but it's really likely they'll ask many questions of why she's coming back so soon after her year.

Shouldn't be a problem under ESTA. Shouldn't...

Come back on a tourist visa?

What visa waiver program does Sweden have? Like they can just show up and get in?

Our south african AP tried to come back 6 months after finishing 2 years with us to spend the summer on a tourist visa.

This was right after Trump got in office and visa's got a lot tougher from South Africa.

We tried again this year and it was denied again for a tourist visa.

It is some algorithm State Dept uses so the only thing she can do is try. South Africa has a high visa jump rate; so visas are hard to get if they were just here it appears. No idea about Sweden.

Our current AP is going home mid-May after her travel month. We wanted her to come back the following week (9 or 10 days after she gets back home) because she really wants to attend my son's graduation. She's worried that they won't let her back in the US. She's from Sweden. Any experience with this? She'd just be on the visa waiver program and would stay about a week.
Thanks
