My friend's AP was denied the first time, but the agency got involved and they interviewed her again and she was approved quickly. There was a misunderstanding the first time.

Tides have turned against whites there government legalized land claims against them; basically returning land to the tribes the whites took it from a long time ago.

Whites in Zim and SA are leaving in large scales and US has clamped down on their visas for concern of them not leaving. tourist visas are really hard to get now even.

For general reference, a HF in my area had a prospective AP from Colombia get denied her visa recently. Apparently because they thought she didn't have enough reason to come back home.

I have heard a lot of Thai au pairs are getting denied.

What country is she from? I think that will tell you her chances. If she is from a country with lots of au pairs she has a good chance of getting it next time. The agency should be able to coach her and your letter may help. --Former LCC

Our soon to arrive au pair was denied a visa. Embassy said they feared she would not return at the end of her year. Agency rep in-country says agency has little ability to pressure embassy so we are trying to work with our congressional office and are writing a letter of support. Has anyone successfully dealt with this?
