I’m not cleaning in another portion of the house while I have one playing with rocks, one doing homework (with intermittent reminders to focus!) and a play date child with my last charge. Not happening. I can sit, help with homework/focus, talk about ricks and listen to the discussion about legos in the other room. Thanks.

And I work hard enough my employers don’t require cleaning. In fact, I was told not to do as much tidying before the housekeeper comes (by my employer!), because the housekeeper needs the money and she needs to feel that she earned it.

And the majority of them are younger than 35+.

Hire an older, more mature Nanny.
They do not feel like their cell phones are fifth limbs.

Or they do not have to be connected + reachable 24/7.

22.40 here. Depending on the ages of the kids, they don’t need constant eyes on them. Or they’re like mine, and don’t like me watching. I take pictures and videos intermittently while looking up and doing other things (again, for the family, not that you can tell what I’m doing...), and I upload to Dropbox, so my nf knows exactly what I’m doing.

I never use my phone for anything when I am working except to respond to my employers or take a picture of my charge. So my internet usage is naptime only - maybe 30 minutes.

You should do the same as your employer, which means she can surf all day.

My job requires me to use the internet. I don't use it for chatting purposes. I am also not a big corporation to allow for flexability and

Is your child awake? Is your child supervised? Is the nanny interacting with your child at all during that time?

Plenty.

My day has included the following things for which I used WiFi/data:
Ordering cupcakes online, party and classroom, oldest child
Looking up pictures of otters eating sea urchins for middle child
Clipping coupons in store
Looking up distances to minimize time in the car
Looking up book order for four series, oldest child
Looking up hours for goodwill, food bank
Checking and responding to email from MB/other employee
Changing ongoing activity in kids’ schedule online
Looked up ingredients for experiments with kids
Looked up a few recipes
Looked up a few series to recommend to oldest
Texted mb, other employee
Checked kids’ devices
Called other employee
Called my relative during downtime at child’s activity
Looked up articles on child psychology
Looked up articles on parent dealing with various child issues
Looked up and purchased various household needs
Emailed food bank requests/monthly donation total to various people

I’m sure I forgot a few things. My phone lives in my pocket, and for this position, I couldn’t do my job without it.

In other positions, it wasn’t necessary or was not allowed. It’s one of the many things I negotiate in my contracts.

^^ You must have a camera on her during the day. ^^

Nanny Cameras are designed to catch child abuse!
Not to see how many hours a day a Nanny surfs the net.
