I normally way overidentify with the employers in most scenarios, and I still think that request is bizarre

Will the child be in your home?

I've had the same nanny for seven years and NEVER been to their home. I know the address, because we've sent the nanny home in Uber during downpours or whatever, but that's it.

WHY?

This is a nanny, not a daycare. The child will be watched in his/her home, not at the nanny's house. There is no reason for an employer to inspect the nanny's house. Zero. Do a background check instead.

Exactly. This is so weird! No chance would I ever entertain this idea, unless you are watching the child at your home.

Totally weird, red flag and just no. This screams someone with no boundaries. Absolutely not and I’d tell them why as well.

Exactly. It’s not about having something to hide but it’s downright intrusive for them to want to come INSPECT your home ( because that’s exactly what they’re doing). Frankly, that’s such a huge red flag that I think you should pass on them entirely.

This is first time they are going to hire nanny.
They wants to visit my home before hire me.
In fact they wants to come my home for interview. They are couple and the wife is pregaywith their first child.
I don’t have any idea what to do.

Tell them no and no thanks to interview. This is a huge red flag and siren. They are crazy. move on and find sane employer. How, or where, you live is none of their business!

Another example of how trash care.com happens to be and the families they attract. I would absolutely tell them NO.

Unless you are providing full time care at your house there is absolutely no need for them to visit your home. It sounds creepy and I would make sure they were legitimate bc care.com has a lot of spam/fake accounts.

Tell them no. Offer to meet them at a neutral place like a Starbucks or something. They are strangers to you as you are to them.

I wouldn't do it. Is she pregnant with her first baby? I once had a family who wanted a list of every member of my household
