I have offered to study with her and make her flash cards. She says she’s studying...and she’s a grown woman, so I’m trying not to be too controlling...

Have you asked her about study skills? Anyone taking the exam needs to memorize signs, some numbers, and rules. I’ve been tempted to make mine flash cards but I really don’t have time to be hand holding that much...

Oh my gosh...our au pair took written test 7times!!! I was getting soo frustrated. It was the language barrier. Passed driving first time. She’s on her 2nd year with us a a good driver. I’m glad we held out.

The thing is, as a tourist, she could drive on her international/foreign license. It’s the resident piece that is triggering the DC license requirement. Call your LCC and see if she has any ideas.

Do you absolutely need a driver? If so, you may need to rematch, whether you want to or not?

AP has failed written test twice. She has been studying old exams but I think the timed nature and driving specific English is tough. Says au pair agency told her that she only needed international drivers license, which DC doesn’t recognize. DMV told us she is not allowed to drive in DC, which seems crazy. Why doesn’t the agency have a study group in their clusters for the exam. Not sure what to do.
