And OP’s comment had nothing to do with being equals, friends or family - it had to do with being irritated seeing her employers be phony in social situations.

Of course I don’t expect or want to be part of their family! I understand that I am an employee! That is not what I am talking about at all.

But there is an undeniable bond when you both love the same child. If you have never felt that, I am sorry for you.

I’m sorry. Several of my past employers tried my patience, sometimes to do with my job, sometimes not.

I was just thinking about how I have the best employers now that I could possibly wish for, too. Maybe you’ll get a holiday wish

Yes, I think everyone in every line of work feels that way from time to time. I try to focus on the best parts of my job when I start to feel that way.

I have a great job and am well paid with great benefits. I love my charge. I usually enjoy my employers but latelyI feel like they are standing on my last nerve. They are basically really good people but definite social climbers. They pretty much turn their backs (figuratively and actually) to anyone who can’t help them make connections. Of course when they talk about things to me they state the opposite. They have no idea how transparent they are.

For some reason, maybe because I see them interact with other people so much more during the holidays, it really is bugging me.

I know what I need to do - just step back and smile. Their actions have nothing to do with me or my job. So this is just a vent.
