Goodness, OP, you can do better than $12/hour, even at an easy gig, unless you are not legal to work here(?). Probably even if you are not legal to work here. It's not necessary to be beat up by your charge. Start looking. Or get legal and then start looking.

I’m a nanny. I work for a single mom with two kids. One is 7 and the other is 9. When she first hired me she told me the 9 year old boy has “learning disabilities”. No details. Just that. I met the boy and he seemed to act normal So I assumed that it was just him having trouble in school or something. What she didn’t tell me is that he has tantrums about the smallest things. He hits he kicks to the point were I have bruises all over my body he calls me a fucking bitch if I ask him to shower. he had a tantrum one time because he had “nothing to do” and threw soda all over my car and started punching me in the face. if I try to put him in time out he refuses and it’s not like I can drag him to his room. His biggest motivation is his iPad. But if he really doesn’t want to do something I take the iPad away and he goes crazy. When he hits I grab his wrists and he pulls on my clothes ripping them. I feel bad for the mother because she works a lot and has had to loose a promotion because she had to pick him up from school for physically attacking other kids. She’s so busy that she just gives him what he wants so she doesn’t have to deal with him. But she has to because it’s the only way that she can provide for her family. I hate being their nanny. But I can’t loose my job or I won’t be able to pay the bills. Ive tried to find other nanny jobs but none of them give me enough hours. Also I honestly would feel bad for quitting because so many nanny’s have quit because of him. I need some advice. Maybe how to handle his tantrums. What to do when he hits and kicks. I just don’t wanna go home with bruises every day.
