Yes, I saved a small amount of money but there was no matching process to speak of

I gave her the money I saved as a Christmas and birthday present.

My daughter and have since visited both of them in Brazil.

What agency did you use after to pre-match? most agencies seems to only give you $300 off.

You won't save a ton of money because the agency is going to same they still need to do reference checks, facilitate the visa, etc; it is mainly to avoid the stress of ultra competitive matching.

Yes, I did this years ago with a Polish AP. We saved a small amount of the agency fee (had to direct her to an agency to get a legal visa) and avoided the matching hassle. The AP was neither our best nor our worst, but she did her job and lasted the year. In today's world, I don't see much use for the agencies and their huge fees.

Does anyone find free agent au pairs and do the pre-match thing? We have almost 6 months so thought this might be a good option for us. We want an AP from the UK and pool is pretty tiny with APIA.
