I talked with them they said they will pay me whenever they will cancel . But , sometimes they wants me to work the days I am off. Like if they cancel then they will ask me to work on my off day . Sometimes they will pay me for the days they will cancel some times they will ask me to work on my off day instead of that day.
I never experienced like that before.
Thanks

They might say "no." Then you have to decide if you want to keep that time available for them, or look for something else.

Wrong! Nannies are in demand, if they don't pay for wasting your time, then find another job. Shame on them. You adjust your life around this family, and if they cancel, that is THEIR FAULT!

If the family cancels they MUST pay you! As a nanny you deserve to get every cent you make, and if you planned to work on a day.... they better pay you cancel or not.
Um, no, they don't HAVE to pay OP. Now, it all depends on the agreement they have but if they tell the nanny in advance that they wont need her services for a week next week b/c of PTO, holiday, whatever, then they are under no obligation to pay her at all. Why should they?
Anonymous wrote:You have to demand Guaranteed Hours, OP. Yes, if they want you to keep those hours available for them, you have to be paid for those hours regardless of whether they use you or not.
If they say no or give you a hard time, quit. Afterschool babysitters are the hardest to find and keep. You will get another job in no time.
I find that those are pretty easy to find, ime.

It’s part time job I pick kids from daycare and stay until parents get home from work.
I work 9 hours , Monday to Thursday.
I work 9 hoursbut the family pay me for ten hours.
Since , sometimes I take the stroller from their home and go to daycare and pick them .
But mostly I pick them in my car.
Some time rarely they leave me to go early.
My issue is they are canceling every week but they don’t pay me .
For instance last week they told me to don’t pick up kids but they didn’t pay me.
I think when the family cancel they have to pay.
Do I have to talk about this issue ?
I will not talk if you guys think it’s just part time position so not necessary to talk.
