Make an outing an everyday thing. If the weather is nasty, they can go to the library. At 2, you can ditch the stroller if she’s driving back, but you should get a car seat for her car, and be prepared to pay the federal mileage rate for gas.

Additionally, try to make sure that you’re in the closed bedroom when they’re back. It’s a lot easier on kids if you aren’t in and out.

Yes....
By ALL means, allow your Nanny to drive your child on outings.

Just make sure she has a clean driving record + a decent vehicle.

Daily outings are a M-U-S-T for Nannies who work for parents who telecommute.
Even more so if the space is not very big.

Good luck!

Do you think it would be better to ask the nanny to drive my son to the playground, library, or Barnes and Noble for 2 hour's in the morning? Right now the weather is beautiful so I really want my son outside in the mornings for at least an hour. I think it would be easier for the nanny if she goes out.

We hired a PT nanny for 3-4 hour's in the mornings. I was surprised I got so many responses but I also do not live in the DC metro area. I live in Florida. I recently finished grad school and I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with my 2 year old. We live in a semi walkable community. The nanny can take the stroller to restaurants and there's a walking trail around our community. We also have a Starbucks, movie theater and and sandwich shop within walking distance. Unfortunately we do not have a playground in my community. The playground is 5 or 10 minutes away driving.
