Nanny here. I never celebrate boss day, but I acknowledge my employers birthdays. I don’t do much but a simple “ Happy Birthday” and bring them a bottle of wine or home baked brownies. I do the same when it comes to holidays, and only get a real gift for the child.

PLEASE don't give us gifts for boss's day. Seriously.

Some minor acknowledgement of b'days or a major holiday if you've been with the family for ages and you really want to do something - then ok. But please still keep it small.

Is this a serious inquiry? How is that even a serious day?!

When I was a teacher we celebrated boss day (we would just write nice things about our boss and have a lunch in) and we got celebrated on teachers appreciation day. As a nanny, I wouldn’t acknowledge that day it just feels weird. However, we do acknowledge bdays and Christmas and they give me money for both and a heartfelt card. I send edible arrangements to both families and get the kids something.

Money is a gift that can never flow down- FYI

Oh my god I would be mortified. Gifts flow downward is the right attitude.

I’ve only been with the family for one month. So, right now, I don’t know my employers well enough to do it. Next year? I can easily see doing something!

Good nannies give their charges love. every. single. day. No employer can adequately compensate her enough for that. "You can't buy love." But you certainly can express your appreciation on a regular basis.

Nothing, I’m sure your employer doesn’t expect anything. My employers don’t even acknowledge my birthday, I’m sure not acknowledging boss day.

It was bosses day this week but I'm late that. What kind of gifts to you give your family? Especially when you really like them... Just looking for suggestions
