Spoiled kids become entitled adults. A gimpse into your future.

You’ve mentioned this before, just get out of the program; no one is forcing you to stay.

We check country culture differences before interviewing. Having a housekeeper, cook, driver or house manager is cultural norm for middle class in some countries. APs are surprised we do our own laundry and cleaning person comes only once or twice a month.

OP is 100 percent a troll. She’s pretending to be a parent but insulting her “kids”. Someone needs a hobby.

The day we were done with the program was a day to celebrate!

On the other side, I have just returned home from a long trip with two sick toddlers to an AP who is thrilled to see them and wants to cook us all dinner tonight.

Agreed. Still, I am going to bite. We love the program. Yes, we are busy, but we take time to get to know our APs and to become part of her busy life. We have been lucky in that all of our 5 au pairs were wonderful, hard working young women, who will forever be part of our family. As for spoiled kids ... Well, make sure your kids are not spoiled. Really, you are not doing them any favor by spoiling them..

We are hosting AP4, after 3 successful years with our prior au pairs. The first was a bit of a personality dud but was otherwise fine and we stuck with her for the year. The other 3 have all been good to great, and if there was a major issue I’d have no problem with rematching. The op makes no sense.

There are many of us with good experiences.

I've had some amazing APs. But the rematch rate in this program is around 50%. So if you have hosted more than once, statistically, you've probably had a mixed experience at best.

Hosting is hard. With the lawsuit, probably no one in the US will be hosting again and APs looking to brush up on english will have to try their hand in the unregulated British AP world. Good luck to them and to us.
