+1. What a mean and vile thing to say. I’m a nanny, and honestly am amazed by my former employers. Yes, they hired me to care for their child, but’s that’s only because they’re working to provide their child a wonderful life. Yes, some moments are missed, but the child has a roof over their head, food on the table, health insurance, money for activities, college funds, etc. They were also the most amazing, doting parents to their kids. We all have to work in life to provide for our families - that is why nannies have jobs, and likely you have one.

Adult psychologist here and I can tell you good, loving nannies that you mattered - whether the child actively remembers you or not - you mattered. The reliable care and love you gave at an early age formed, in part, who the child became.

That's why I do this job. At the end of your life, what matters is the love you've shared with other people and just like these children will remain into our hearts, we also hold a special place in theirs.

I was with my previous charge from the moment she wasnborn until a little after she turned 2. I loved this girl like no other. We had a special bond. I miss her everyday. I also hope to be a part of their lives until they get older, but I I understand that might not be the case.

I was the one to greet them when they woke in morning & on many occassions the one they saw last before bed. I was the one that dressed & bathed them. Gave them their bottles.

I saw many of the first. The first time they rolled over, took a step, spoke a word. I was the one to comfort them when they fell. To rock them when sick. I was the one who played the same game a million times just to hear them giggle.

I have been spit up on, peeed & pooped on, thrown up on & been covered in boogers. I have been given millions kisses & hugs. I have read countless books. I have potty trained & helped a child learn & gorw.

I loved cared for many children. Some of those children were never remember me & all I did for them. Some I hope to always remain a part of their lifes in some way. In the end I know it's all worth it. I have been blessed to mother & love these children & they will forever hold a piece of my heart!
