Here is what you know: this potential family sees their nannies/employees as a human beings and true friendship material. I cannot see how this is a bad thing. You know going in that you will be thought of as more than just “the help”.

Same conversation is a no go for me. However, I would have asked to schedule a separate call with former nanny, to address things like paying correctly and on time, lateness, schedule flexibility, etc.

OP here. The old nanny will pick up the older child at school on Fridays and take her out. I may never see her.

I like the idea that the old nanny likes the family so much she has stayed close. I don’t like that They may not feel the same about me.

It’s fine! It’s nice for a parent to have former nanny’s opinion.

Well you should ask how often other nanny comes visit. If it’s once a week whil you’re there, that’s a lot.

I am a nanny. I did a phone interview for a new job with the mother and the former nanny. The former nanny was the nanny for the older child who is in school now and she hasn’t worked for them for three years but is still friends with them. They have a newborn that I would be the nanny for as well as after school for the older child. The former nanny was very nice. I am going for a in person interview this weekend.

Do you guys think it is a good sign that the old nanny is still around or a bad sign?
