When was the last time you heard of a women molesting a boy or girl? Yes, by the numbers, males are clearly riskier!!

That said, there are great male nannies and male Early Education teachers so just hire with due diligence.

Tuesday. Two college nannies were arrested and charged for molesting their 4ayear-old charge. These girls were hired through an agency that prides itself on having affordable college aged nannies.

OK, now provide the stats on the percentage of men who are pedophiles compared with the percentage of women. A one off does not a pattern make. Men are and will always be riskier around kids. That's how they're wired. Does that mean no women are ever pedophiles or child abusers? No, of course not. It just means men are statistically more likely to be abusers than women. Personally, I'd be leery of any man who wants to be alone with a child; but that's just me.

Your boys are 3, so they should be able to talk. I would have a conversation w/ the boys (even if you hire a female nanny) and let them know that they can talk to you and let you know if someone is doing something they don’t like (or wrong)- kids are smart. I would definitely do a paid trail maybe 1-2 days and see how the boys interact with him and vice versa. And at the end of the day, go with your gut!
