I have 2 part time sitters, both in their 60s that are fit, healthy and amazing with my active toddler. Age is nothing but a number.

Nonsense. A 66 year old woman in good shape can keep up with any toddler - even a runner like my DD. I have seen overweight 20 something’s that I know couldn’t keep up with my DD. Our nanny is 60 and can literally run circles around me!

We all have the freedom to hire who we think is best. I think someone of that age is not best.

You are an ageist - it is a form of prejudice just like any other. There are lots of choices in hiring a nanny but race, religion and age should never be a consideration.

You know what? If my six year old had a 66 year-old teacher at school I wouldn't blink an eye. But in my home, which is a third story walk up, while carrying a sleeping toddler? Yes, I'm not going to pick the 66 year old for that.

Health is far more important than age. A fit 65 year old beats an tired/overweight twent year old any day of the week. Plus the phone addiction is not an issue with an older nanny generally.

+1 I see more older nannies in NW than any other age. Usually between 40s-60s.

I think you have a good chance OP!!

I do agree you may want to start off with an infant first though.

Wishing you only the best in your search!

Sure. Our nanny just turned 63 and has been with us for two and a half years. I plan to keep her forever! So she will be 65 before our next baby even starts preschool. She is amazing and everyone tells me what a fantastic nanny I have. She definitely has more energy than I do!

Let me also add nanny around your age is a plus. Because most nannies that are younger stay on their phone all day.

I have six children and I am 65 years old. Is it possible I could find a job at that age? I am open to work part time and full time position.
Are the parents going to hire 65 years old? Btw I am healthy.
