I understand that. My reason for saying all that was just to point out that it’s actually a serious issue to the people who seemed to just be making light of it because he’s not outright hitting anyone.

You’re totally right, though. There isn’t really anything the OP can do, she said herself she is just venting. I guess I was just adding to that because reading about her situation ticked me off. I feel bad because it’s a terrible situation and she should be able to do more to help, but she can’t. Our system is messed up.

It’s all up to the mother to get herself and her child out of that situation before bad becomes worse.

Nothing. It's up to the MB. DB may be miserable for any number of reasons (inborn, work related, health issues, extended family issues), but it's too bad he can't keep it out of the little guy's life.

I see no reason to sugarcoat it, this sounds like verbal abuse and neglect to me. I mean, he’s doing all that stuff right in front of you, who knows what he’s doing when you’re not there.

Honestly, reporting someone for not smiling sounds kinda funny when you say it, but I think it would be really great if you could get parents who shouldn’t have had kids out of their kids lives. OP here. He is cold. I have never once seen them kiss or hug each other in four years. He seems to be getting worse toward my charge and his wife.

I know a guy like that. He is (or seems) miserable the moment he walks in the door. He yells at his kids constantly and they are expecting another baby in the summer. I have always thought the mother could have done so much better and doubt the marriage will last.

Oh, stop. Child Services can do nothing about a parent who yells. Some parents are just assholes and never should have had kids.

DB is a total ass. He screams at my four-year-old charge constantly and never has fun or smiles at him. He always seems to be mad at my charge. I have never once seen him be affectionate to either his son or his wife. My charge is a smart, sweet little guy and does nothing to deserve this crappy treatment.

I seriously hate the guy. He is fine to me - has never raised his voice to me. I just hate what he is doing to his son.
