I have always cooked for “my” families. I love cooking and I am very invested in nutrition. I even used to work a side business as an in-home chef specializing in cooking for children with allergies or special diets. For several families I have even taken it so far as to pack lunches for the parent to take to work during the day. To me, cooking is a great sensory, scientific, and mathematic activity for the children and making meals for their whole family teaches them to serve their other family members, provides them with the chance to have family dinners, and makes the children more invested in the meals they all eat together.
