When I was a nanny, I used to. I was 20 and in college and then knew I loved cooking but being single and on a budget, I didn't get to experiment. I'd prepare 2 meals for them a week. Theyd let me go shopping on their dime, and then they would pay me extra for cooking. It was awesome and I was so bummed when they had to move away.

I have always cooked for “my” families. I love cooking and I am very invested in nutrition. I even used to work a side business as an in-home chef specializing in cooking for children with allergies or special diets. For several families I have even taken it so far as to pack lunches for the parent to take to work during the day. To me, cooking is a great sensory, scientific, and mathematic activity for the children and making meals for their whole family teaches them to serve their other family members, provides them with the chance to have family dinners, and makes the children more invested in the meals they all eat together.

Our nanny loves cooking and actively asks to cook us several meals a week. She gets annoyed when I don’t have anything planned for cooking, she hates just sitting around at nap time.

Depends on the family. I'm more experienced cooking from scratch and checking labels than most parents are, so if we're avoiding anything, I'd rather do it.

The families I work for have full time chefs. The chef makes lunch for me. So, the answer is never.

I did lots of cooking for my previous NF. I love to cook and they had an awesome kitchen with all the gadgets. When I read the thread about the nanny making elaborate meals for herself at her workplace I couldn't help but think why isn't she cooking for everyone? Most of the time the kids were in school when I cooked. But I did some cooking with them involved. I think this all depends on the nanny though.
