Our nanny loves this one kind of cake that is hard to find and we have been getting her that cake for Valentine's from DD for the last two years.

Gifts are never "expected". Sounds like a sock puppet who keeps repeating that. Of course nothing is expected!

My last NF gave me a yummy gourmet cupcake from the kids. Other then that, I've never gotten anything from a NF for Valentine's Day and wouldn't expect to.

Flowers or a box of chocolate from your kids would be nice but this is not expected at all

It sounds like you are a wonderful employer who truly values your Nanny.

A Christmas + birthday gift are likely enough.

You can always give your Nanny some chocolate or a cute bracelet, but she wouldn’t be expecting anything likely.

I suggest a homemade Valentine’s Day card made by your daughter along w/some delicious pink cupcakes for her to enjoy.

I am a nanny and I have never expected anything for Valentine's Day. Last year, my weekend employers gave all their nannies gold necklaces with their names spelled out (a la the "carrie" necklace in SATC). It was a kind gesture but I have never worn it.

I think Valentine's Day is more about romantic love so I wouldn't expect any kind of present from my employers. If you feel like you want to, a nice box of chocolates or some flowers is more than enough.

We have a nanny whom we absolutely adore. We gave her a gift and $1500 at Christmas and gave her a birthday gift. Should we be giving Valentine's Day gifts as well? She is always giving DD gifts (books mostly) and gave her a Valentine's book last year. But it never occurred to me to give our nanny anything.

What, if anything, would be appropriate?
