+1 I had a high profile DB like this - so pathetically phony. He basically ignored his boys when no one was looking but put on such a show of fatherhood when anyone of 'importance" was around. His posts about the importance of family could make you puke. "Rude" does not adequately describe him.

Autistic people have trouble understanding social rules. It is not obvious to them that saying hello etc is required to be polite.

Why do people think rude= autism?

Maybe she’s just rude?

I had an employer who had HFA and she was a legitimate genius as well.

Best boss I ever had. Communicating was easy because she was blunt and matter of fact. She sometimes said things without thinking but was pretty good at realizing it and apologizing.

I much preferered her and her quirks to other employers who wee “nice” but not kind.

Best family, adored the kids and still see them regularly.

I agree. My employers have a terrible marriage and are most likely headed for divorce. Their rude behavior towards me has nothing to do with me.

MB is perhaps the rudest woman I have ever encountered in my life! She never says thank you; will walk through the kitchen first thing in the morning without even acknowledging my presence; never says good-bye when I leave; never has given me a compliment. She seems oblivious to common practices in polite society. I have been with this family for four years and in those four years she has been passed up for promotions at work every single year and her "team" never stays with her. Her DH does whatever she says - I have never once seen her vacuum or clean a bathroom but he will rush in from work and do it.

Oddly, I still like her. More importantly, I love their child.

The more I learn about autism (what they used to call Aspergers), the more I think she may well be on the spectrum. I have no clue what is wrong with DB aside from being totally whipped.

Here is why I am posting: as nannies, our employers may well have issues and problems that we will see clearly and really don't reflect our work at all.
