Where are you located? $20 is a low rate I’m DC.

Giving a 40-60% insurance stipend would do wonders for getting a decent nanny.

My last 3 employers have offered a monthly stipend.

Yes, nannies deserve health insurance too.

$20 an hour will not pay for bills and quality health insurance in DC.

I disagree w/the above ^^^^ answer that $20/HR is a low hourly rate for a good Nanny.

Legally, no. But in paying a nanny so little ($20 an hour is low for a good nanny) paying her healthcare insurance might be a real incentive to work for you.

Do I need to provide health insurance for a nanny. I am looking to pay my nanny $20/hour and will take out taxes, etc. but legally do I need to pay health insurance for her?
