MB sounds like a typical single mom in terms of needing weekend coverage. I’ve known several who wanted to spend time with their kids, but they didn’t have time.

I know because I marked on her diapers. It's typical for single moms to party all weekend and not see their children for 36 hours, really? I don't think so.


Give 1 week notice and the PP making ridiculous justifications for the mother can take over. Better to have someone who will see the family through rose colored glasses.

My charges mom is neglectful. She rarely has a new diaper on in the mornings and it's almost always the one I put on her the day before at 5 pm. Her mom asks me to babysit her daughter for lots of overnights on the weekends at my house. Last weekend she was with me for the entire weekend and mb didn't see her until Monday after work. Her mom isn't worried about potty training even though my charge is almost 3. My charge also has a HORRIBLE diet. She will throw a tantrum if we're out and I try to order her something healthy. She cries if I don't fill up her juice cup all day or if we leave the playground. It's constant crying during any transitions. She even cries when her moms comes home because she doesn't want me to leave. I feel really sad about giving notice but I need to move on to another job. I think I need to stop being a nanny all together. What should I say? I have only been at my job for 2 months so I feel bad to do this but I think it's best. I can't handle the stress anymore.
