Just realized it is 12 miles not 8. So 6+ 10to15 = 16 to 21 a day.

Given the short time and the nature of the job, I would charge for the commute time. Other question is how long does pickup take? At our school it is about 20 minutes from arriving at School to exiting School.

My rough calculation, 50 cents a mile *8 = $4. (Pad this if picking up involves idling car in a car loop)
One hour of your time $10-15.
So I would charge between 14 and 19 dollars a day.

More than that. If it is an 8 mile drive back home from the MB's house, then that is 16 miles of driving each day. At $45 a week the person would be pretty close to losing money after gassing up her car and doing routine vehicle maintenance.

The employee has to keep her time available for this 3 day a week gig. She won't be able make any personal commitments during this timeframe.

I would say $25 a day. $20 for her time and $5 for the mileage on her car.

$45 a week.

Charge what Uber would charge.

How many hours (or fraction of hours) from the child's school to the child's house? That is all that matters - you distance to and fro work is of no concern.

Pick up from school and drive home 3 times a week. Distance between school and the house is about 4 miles (from my place to school about 5 miles and from my house to their house about 3 miles) NW DC.
