Our nanny doesn't celebrate Christmas. It's not her religion. DH and I were both working. Business as usual over here.

Our nanny worked on Christmas. No other family. My husband and I were working. We paid time and a half per her contract. I wasn't there, but I imagine it was as pleasant as any day with a one and three year old. My husband and I celebrated Christmas with the kids yesterday.

I didn't work my regular nanny job but I worked with kids through my agency. It was great! Double pay!

Was it pleasant? Did you get paid a solid bonus for working a holiday? Did your employers work also or use you as a personal servant? How many other family members were around?
