I know it’s too late, but I would have played dumb: “Sorry, I’m a little confused. Are you giving me the morning off or asking me to work but change my duties to personal assistant instead of nanny?”

I hope you're still being paid for that time? I don't think you should hesitate not to do errands outside your job description if you're not comfortable / interested. They may want to look for a nanny with more flexibility in terms of duties but the way this MB is handling it could definitely be improved. "Since you're off" rubs me the wrong way.

Tell her how you feel.

MB here and I disagree. It's almost impossible to say no in this situation since she can't possibly have made other plans in the .1 seconds that she thought she was getting some time off.

At least she pays you for the extra time I guess.

This. Doesn't sound like you care for your employers very much. Maybe you need to think about why that is OP.

People like that are irritating in general.

“But since you are off, do you mind doing me a favor? I’ll compensate you!”

My MBs way is getting me to do something for her that isn’t within my set duties/responsibilities.. She wanted me to run a few errands. I don’t mind, but hate how she worded it. I’m not off, if I’m doing something for you. In my off time I do what I want.

Do you have employees who assume you’re stupid and easily manipulated.
