A gift card or some cash bonus would be appreciated and nice. I was in the same situation last year; started PT in November and was surprised to receive a small lip balm set and a $100 cash. I didn't expect that but it was very sweet of NF. Gifts from the kiddo can be a coffee mug with a picture, cute picture frame, etc... The gesture counts more than the sum of the gift

If you do a weeks pay now for a month of anniversary, she will be expecting a month's pay for next Christmas. Also, now is the honeymoon period. Everything looks good. Next year, things will look different. If you have money to burn, use it on a second helper nanny. Giving her a week's of money now is worse than burning it, sadly. I speak after 10 years of experience with nannies. She thinks she's great and will become complacent.

I started two one day a week jobs last October and one gave me $50 cash ($100 this year) and the other gave me $50 gift card plus slippers I leave at their house. Both were thoughtful and unexpected after a short tenure.

Get her some things from Lush or if you know she's a Starbucks person maybe a gift card!! I'm a late 20s nanny and my employers gave me lush gifts for my birthday. It was so sweet.

Our nanny has been with us about a month. We love her and plan to give her a nice Christmas bonus, but I'd also like to give her a little token gift from my son, who is 2. Of course, only a month in and I don't really know her hobbies, etc. yet. Any ideas for a small, generic, and yet thoughtful gift to accompany a cash bonus?
