I don't know about OP, but my nearly 30lb nearly 2yo has special needs and won't walk until she's around three, so you don't know the OP's circumstances.

Do Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. It's literally less than 30 minutes per day (though you definitely need a shower afterwards) and you can do it at home. Try to walk more, and if your kid walks, take them on walks to get them used to it. Start with a little and add a couple minutes each week. They'll surprise you.

Though I have to say, we go to a baby and me gym class twice a week and I am dead by the end of it, and I'm in great shape. Some things are just tiring!

And look at your diaper bag, chances are you don't need to carry quite so much. Consider switching to a backpack. Frees your hands and makes moving easier, plus if you have to carry the child, it won't be in the way or bumping you on the side, shifting your balance.

I don’t use a stroller either and I still don’t get why you are carrying this kid all the time. My 2yo twins are both under 30lbs and they walk and hold my hand. Even *gasp* when crossing the street. And for the two of them, I, a notorious over packer with a mary poppins bag reputation still have a diaper bag that weighs like 10lbs max. So either you are hyperbolizing, or else you need to tell us wth you are hauling around in there. Yes, I still have to life them in and out of the crib and high chair but I have trained them to stand so that I can lift with my legs.

Why dont you use a stroller?

Put the kid in a stroller and start going for walks.

Run, weights and lose weight. Nothing helped me more than dropping 15 pounds.

Stroller and thin out that diaper bag if it truly weighs 20 lbs. I took a backpack on an airplane to Alaska with winter camping gear and food and it only weighed 30 lbs. If that diaper bag weighs 20 you're packing way too much crap. A 32 lb kid is big enough to 1) walk 2) do most of their climbing themselves 3) carry a little backpack with some of their own stuff.

Next, yourself a NICE backpack from REI or a similar store and carry your stuff on your back with your hips bearing the load. Your back will thank you.

Lastly, just start moving. Walking, cycling, spin class etc. Get some dumbells and strengthen your arms. Do push-ups, sit ups, leg lifts, STRETCH, burpees, mountain climbers etc. Start with five of each if that's all you can do and then increase.

Good luck. But seriously, get that kid to carry my re of her own weight.

How old is this 32-pound child? By the time mine weighed that much, they could climb in and out of everything. I'm a MB with a bad back.

Even my big oldest was 2 before he weighed that much, and could certainly climb in and out of the car, highchair, rocking chair, etc.. They could all walk across the street, too.

Why don't you use the stroller? If you have a back problem, you need to use the stroller or the child needs to walk.

My body is beat! I twisted my knee and now my lower back hurts. I know I need to work out but have no clue what the right workout would be for me. My charge is 32 pounds and my diaper bag is about 20 pounds - I feel like the child and her "supplies" are actually making me shorter and compressing my spine! In and out of the car - ballet and gym class (where the caregiver participates) and taking her in and out of the crib.

I need an exercise routine. I have weekends off but very little time during the week.
