A start date and offering another meeting is not a job offer. "I'm calling to offer you the nanny position" is a job offer. I always hedged with saying things like "you would start on XX" but know many people might say "you will start on XX" and basically hold the conversation as if the candidate would get the job even if they are still evaluating -- and the candidate should really do the same as well until they're sure they don't take the job. For your sake don't assume you have a job unless you get a clear verbal/written offer with all details.

Now I know you're crazy. Your original post does NOT say she gave you a nasty look at all. And I DID give you positive advice. Which you should take. But you won't. Because you've convinced yourself that I am insecure and jealous of you. There's nothing about my post that indicates I'm insecure or jealous. Nothing I say will change your assumption so I won't waste any more time on you.

Pp is right, it wasn't meant to be. As a nanny you have to be carefull to never appear attractive enough to cause jealousy in insecure moms, and never appear out of shape enough that you can't keep up with their kids. But it is what it is.

Curvy nanny here. I used to be fat and I believe I didn't get some jobs because of that. And that's fine. We have to be honest here : you have to be fit to keep up with children.
Curvy can be fit, fat can't and that's a fact.

OP, don't be upset about it and move on. This wasn't meant to be.

Most women that describe themselves as "curvy" are actually just straight up fat. It's unlikely she was insecure around you, she probably just wasn't confident that you are physically fit and healthy enough to keep up with her child on the playground.

And why do you assume you were not hired because you have curves??

Ok so mom interviewed and basically hired me. We had a really great meeting but I noticed that she kept looking at my body features. Long story short I was never hired and I believe it was because of my looks. I'm really curvy but I do my best to camouflage my body like covering up because I know how insecure women are but if that was the case why pretend like you're going to hire me. It just sucks because I shouldn't be discriminated against based on my look as long as its professional at this point I don't know if I want to continue this field of work I although I love children.
