+1 There are nannies who are willing to accept a short term position but you are always at risk of them finding a full time permanent position while they are working for you and leaving early. Offer a end-of-tenure bonus that the nanny will receive if she fulfills the full term.

The idea of a bonus is a great incentive to secure someone staying as long as you need them!

What you need is two different people: a short-term, full time nanny Jan-Mar and a long-term, part-time nanny starting in March.

Are people ever interested in these arrangements? I'll have a gap in care from Jan to Mar. A March spot at our desired center is supposedly going to open, but we'd love to keep the person on for 20 hrs/week to do pickup and after care so DS isn't at a center all day. Do people have arrangements like this? And if not, what do people do to fill the gap until a daycare spot opens?
