No your rate doesn't change. You are already paid a blended rate that is typical for 2 children. and if you're paid in case for 1 day a week of work, which may be typical since it is only one day, it's just fine. $17 cash = $19 W-2.

I quote a rate that accounts for the few hours with all of them and I don't raise it for the couple of hours I have them. I'd take that job if it otherwise seemed like a good fit and worked around an existing job, personalities were a good match etc.

Generally, no - your rate does not increase. I don't know where you are, OP, but $17 an hour is really very low for even one infant.
I am in Arlington, VA. It's tough finding a 1 or 2 day job that doesn't interfere with my full time job-- just looking for some extra cash it's about 150 per day. They have a full time nanny, so I am hoping not to do much (housekeeping) which I will inquire about. I've just heard in the past at interviews, that parents would pay more if their school age child stayed home for the day. I just don't want to sound dumb
