I don't necessarily see red flags in terms of job creep but I do see red flags in the lack of PTO. Regarding job creep, I would make sure the exact duties are in the contract (down to the number of dishes in the sink if what they asked at the outset is "3-4 dishes") -- that way if they ask you to do anything extra, you can point to the contract and say you would be happy to discuss a new scope and pay if they need different sorts of help. What I think is really crappy is the lack of PTO; I look for a minimum of two weeks paid (combination of nanny and family choice), and a liberal unpaid policy (another week or two). Given the low-ish hours and little chance of overtime, I would think $20-22 would be about right (assuming they increase your PTO to something more humane; otherwise I wouldn't take the job at any rate).

OP, if you take the above advice, you will never find a job that pays you enough. There is no reason for these parents to pay you $25 an hour for this job, because there are a zillion other candidates who would do it for less.

$17-18/hr is a reasonable rate for 1 child, and I'd add on $2 per hour for the other duties.

This doesn't seem like a good position. But anything less than 40 hours I make sure to make at least 25. If it's 40 hours and Overttime I go a little down but it also depends on the number of children AND age and the responsibilities if housekeeping is envoved.

$25-30 depending on your experience with these (miserable) benefits and no overtime. If they upped it to 3-4 weeks vacation, or included a health insurance benefit, perhaps a bit less.

Hi ,
I need advice please. I got a job offer. They wants me to take care of 17 month boy.
They wants me to work 32 hours. Family wants me to cook for them three times in week. Wash the dishes ( not all but what ever is in sink when I get there like everyday three or four dishes) swipe and clean the kitchen and pick up toys.
They are not ready to give me health insurance ,sick leave , Federal holidays only one week vocation.
They asked me how much do I want hourly? I told them I need time to think about position.
Any advice please
