That's good to know. I know the sports insurance is expensive. I think our next au pair was contemplating alternative insurance. I'm just nervous about giving suggestions.

Our au pairs always take the extra "sport" insurance, and it has worked great. They have been able to see a doctor for minor things (broken toe, urinary tract infection, etc) with only $35 co-pay. For major things (torn ACL), the insurance paid for x rays, MRI, doctor evals and then sent AP home with an escort for surgery at home. Sport upgrade is definitely hte way to go.

was that the cultural care plan? Is it that bad? Luckily I haven't had an au pair need it yet.

My au pair refused to pay for it her second year because it was so useless the first year. It is terrible coverage.

Has anyone's au pair used the health insurance through Cultural Care yet? I believe it is an Aetna plan through Erika travel insurance.
My next au pair has a boss who travels significantly and suggested Bupa travel insurance.
I know nothing about the CC plan, nor the Bupa plan.
I wasn't sure if anyone had any insight. Thanks.
