Agree with PP. Don't ghost them, it isn't professional and could lead to potential awkwardness at some stage. Just text and move onto a better job.

Just text her that your life circumstances have changed and you're no longer able to work for them and you wish them best of luck and you're sorry. Done. Life is too short to waste it at a job you loathe.

Why endure another day of a job you dread going to every single day??!

If it really is unbearable to you, simply let the parent know & wish them the best in their Nanny search.
Your employment is totally at will OP.
And if you cannot handle things, it is best for all sides if you just leave now.

Waiting even two weeks just adds two more weeks of misery to your life.

Best to move on.
Right now.

Good luck.

If you are truly a professional you would give two weeks notice (and obviously you've already found another job or you wouldn't be so eager), tell them a lie (you're moving to a new state to take care of sick relative) offer to help them find new care and move on from there. Just because someone else acted badly does it mean you have to as well? Focus on your reputation, not theirs.

I would text now and let her know you are no longer going to work for her. Unless of course you have a contract and must give a certain amount of notice like a month or so. If that is the case still let her know asap. And of course work if they still want you to for your agreed upon notice time.

Ghosting is for people of weak character. It was done to me once and I swore I would never do it to anyone, and I haven't.

Text her.

Just text and say it's no longer a good fit.

Just text and say it isn't for you. Otherwise, someday you will run into this family when you least expect it (like at some kids birthday party where the two moms know each other) and it will be super awkward.

4 kids, sahm. The mom is super overbearing but claims to be very overwhelmed. They are on vacation this week and the mom will text me when they get back . I really want to just block her number and never go back. Advice?
