So your nanny takes kid to pre-school, does a pick-up and then leaves SOMETIMES. Most times she is home with child in the PM until 5 or so? All fine.

But she isnt. People are not reading the post. She is a PART time nanny, asked to work 4 hours a day but is only currently being used as a drop off service so is not doing any actual nannying.

I think it sounds like a sweet gig.

Getting paid in full w/out having to put in all the hours??!
Who wouldn't want this gig?

Am I missing something here or what?

Did would have no issue with this but might worry they'll decide they don't Actually need me and let me go. Keep the communication open with her and let her know what days she won't be needed the full day.

Only in the nanny population would people complain of being paid in full and yet sent home early
Seriously if I had read this forum before hiring our first nanny and realized what really goes through their minds-
I would have run run run run. You just can't please so many people here - you can't win no matter what.

PP, it reads as though OP is only being given 4 hours a day and is being asked to (regularly?) just pick up the kid, deliver to parent then go back home. Doesn't sound a sweet deal to me.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Getting 3 hours of paid time off sounds sweet

Why not ask the nanny?

I agree PP. Your DH could have gone off and done some errands and left nanny at home with the kid. Would have made it worth the nannies time.

If I asked the nanny to do a pickup on a day she's working I'd expect her to come in and help watch the kids. Why doesn't your husband want that?

It's not even working though, it is driving a kid from nursery to home. I wouldn't like that. If my NF made a habit of that, I would quit.

I would be fine with this situation, getting paid
for 4 hours, and most likely working about 1 hour. Sounds
like a win to me.

As a nanny, I wouldn't be happy leaving my house, collecting a child from nursery, taking them back home and then going back to my own home. If I wanted to be a cab driver, I would have taken on that profession, not become a nanny.
I don't think msny nannies would be happy with this in all honesty.

Nanny gets paid in full each time but will this situation cause problems if it keeps occurring? Will it be the case that nanny will get ticked off?

Ask the nanny. Some would be happy to have an easy gig with lots of time off and involved parents. Others would want to actually be with thwir chargw and would move on to a family that really needs them.
