Start shutting the topic down. "You know Jane, I think i am a litlle uncomfortable about discussing religion. Can we just agree to disagree and leave it at that?" And maybe also "I am feeling uncomfortable with how my religion is discussed, and some of the comments the kids are starting to make."

OP here, it just may be, but I believe it's more Religious, because she is very involved in the church and encourages others to be as well, and likes to push her views and beliefs on others.

Op here, I never bring up the subject. MB brings it up, and me being the polite person I am doesn't want to ignore her conversation, I simply have one, voice my opinion and leave it at that.

Are you sure it isn't more political than religious? Baptists are known to be Right Wing while Catholics, especially with the new Pope, swing Left.

weird. you're both Christian, so they are not that different (I'm Catholic). I can't believe you both get in deep enough conversations to get into debates.

Maybe joke with her and say" wow, if you think I'm different, good thing you don't have a Jewish or Hindu nanny"
She needs to learn some tolerance. or maybe tell her Jesus was Jewish first and the Apostles were Christian. Catholicism was invented 1000 years later.

MB and I are two different religions, she Catholic and I Baptist, everyday she and I will talk about her catholic faith and her beliefs and I never ever downplay her beliefs, but she always has some smart remark about Baptist, and the Baptist church and it gets frustrating, she even tried to convince me to convert over to being a catholic, I politely declined, because I am firm in my beliefs, but it gets irritating having MB trying to tell me what WE baptist do wrong and it gets old and tiring. It even gotten to a point where her children tried to down talk my faith to me, and I just calmly walk away so that I won't say anything that would hurt feelings or make me regret what comes out of my mouth. How can I explain to MB that it's rude and disrespectful to talk down on others and their beliefs, when she is far from holier than thou.
