Ummm ... anyone on any forum in any place can lie. Where would you have nannies advertise that's more reliable?
I know you'll say "go through an agency," but the agency just does what any parent ought to do if they hire someone: checks references and runs background checks. The agencies find people on Care, listservs, and through ads themselves.
