Ummm ... anyone on any forum in any place can lie. Where would you have nannies advertise that's more reliable?
I know you'll say "go through an agency," but the agency just does what any parent ought to do if they hire someone: checks references and runs background checks. The agencies find people on Care, listservs, and through ads themselves.
The agencies also have experience screening nannies and know what a good one looks like. A lot of parents get hung up on stupid crap like wanting someone a certain age, not too pretty, or specifically pretty. They act like they're looking for an accessory not a childcare provider.

Is it possible to find a part time job in the summer that extends to Afterschool care during the school year? Something long term?
I'm open to before care if they're close enough to me.
I've looked on care and haven't found anything interesting.
