It sounds like there's more going on here, though, and I wonder if there's just some fatigue on everyone's part in terms of deciding what's right and fair in terms of an illness policy. You were out for an extended period for an emergency at one point, but you have also taken "unpaid days off" in addition, and the job ends in a few months.
I agree. My illness has left me with a weaker auto immune disease. Which I've been upfront about. They have all been sick a lot this year. I took an extra day or 2 ( I don't remember) when I was in the hospital. This is the first time since the first week of January. As far as what's right and fair I have never asked to be paid outside of my vacation days for the few yrs I've been with them. I would have taken it out of vacation, but they decided our 2 weeks without discussing it with me. I didn't argue over it because I'm leaving soon.
