Not ok. My nanny comes in and makes breakfast for dd and sometimes eats with her. That's totally fine. Also, being late is not ok.

Sounds like you need to address overall performance OP. The b'fast thing is the kind of thing that takes on increasing importance/becomes more annoying when it's one in a list of small annoyances or performance concerns.

Sit down and write out everything that the nanny is doing that is great - that you think is terrific and would positively reinforce. Then do the same thing for all the things that you wish were different - paying extra attention to anything that concerns you that was a fundamental requirement when you hired the nanny.

Then see what you're looking at and go from there.

Yes, it is wrong of her to do that. Our nanny is always early and starts in on the baby's laundry, making baby's breakfast, changing crib sheet, etc. the second she walks in the door. I cannot begin to imagine her ever making eggs for herself when she first arrives.

She has plenty of time to cook + eat breakfast at her own home before coming in to work.

It is improper of her to start off the day making food only for herself.
If she prepared breakfast for your child too, then that would be acceptable at least.

Op here, yes she is supposed to be on duty. She usually arrives a few minutes late to begin with, then proceeds to cook for herself. She lives four miles away so could easily eat before she comes, or bring something. This is one of many issues I'm having with her, so maybe it's just bothering me more.

Weird if she is not feeding the kids. I can see lunch and snacks but not breakfast when the kids are fed and you are supplying the food.

Depends how much it bothers you I guess. You either let her carry on, tell her to stop doing it OR get her to make your child breakfast too.

My nanny starts at 8 AM every day and is soon as she arrives she makes yourself breakfast. I don't mean a bowl of cereal I mean she start cooking eggs for herself . I don't mind her eating breakfast but it's a little strange to me that she is cooking her for herself as soon as she arrives. She does not prepare breakfast for my daughter I do that. I don't mind her cooking lunch for herself I even buy her food that she likes to keep in the house but the breakfast seems a little odd to me. Am I overreacting? If not how do I even address this issue? My kids are 2 1/2 and six months.
