Being paid on time is a given and this is in your contract. No excuses. First time you are paid late, you start looking for a new job. This is a job not a hobby. They are paid on time and should pay you on time.

Yes, no excuse not to be paid on time. Telll yout employer this in writing if needs be and quit if it doesn't improve.

Obviously, many nanny employers do not give a damn about their nanny's needs. I am not a nanny but in one of my jobs in college, I worked for someone who have me a paycheck and told me not to cash it until he told me it was ok. I quit on the spot and filed a complaint with Wage and Labor board. I got my pay plus some interest.

Nannies, wake up! You work your hours and you should be paid on time ALWAYS.

Why don't people just do direct deposit to their nanny's bank account? I don't use a payroll company and we do the taxes etc ourselves. Get the cash app and remind them on Friday morning (or midday or when you leave) that they owe you $XX and to please send it. With the cash app you can also request money as well.

Tell them ahead of time that this cannot happen again and that you must be paid on time. Suggest payroll companies and explain how much you dislike having to run down a paycheck.

I had this situation with my current employers and it was the only thing wrong with an otherwise wonderful job. I told them that it was unacceptable and they completely understood. I started writing emails prior to the end of the month reminding them. Finally, they got a payroll company.

Have them sign up with a payroll company. I get a text from Homework solutions every other week when my money is being deposited, and no running to the bank after a late Friday.

fees if not paid on time.


If that mattered she would be paid on time.

OP tell them it is unacceptable to be paid late. Then start looking for a new job because I doubt there will be any change.

Tell them in no uncertain terms that you are either paid ON time or you will go to local labor board and file a complaint. You work and earn your money and you should be paid on time! Not being paid timely is a valid reason for quitting.

This is more just a frustrated vent than anything. I am so tired of db paying me late. Anything from an hour after I'm off work to over the weekend. Everytime I have to delay my plans to chase my paycheck just makes me more determined to find a new job. He doesn't think it's "a big deal" because to him it's not a lot of money ($1000 a week). To ME it's my entire livelihood. ?
