And I know what her standard week is and have an automatic transfer set up every other Thursday so she gets it in her bank by Friday/Saturday. And if there is additional overtime I recalculate and change it but it's rare or scheduled way ahead of time. We use a credit union and she has a regular commercial bank. Doesn't cost anything extra and it was like 2 forms to set it up.
Obviously, many nanny employers do not give a damn about their nanny's needs. I am not a nanny but in one of my jobs in college, I worked for someone who have me a paycheck and told me not to cash it until he told me it was ok. I quit on the spot and filed a complaint with Wage and Labor board. I got my pay plus some interest.
Nannies, wake up! You work your hours and you should be paid on time ALWAYS.

I had this situation with my current employers and it was the only thing wrong with an otherwise wonderful job. I told them that it was unacceptable and they completely understood. I started writing emails prior to the end of the month reminding them. Finally, they got a payroll company.

+1
I concur.
Just mention that you NEED to be paid in a timely fashion because your bills will incur late
fees if not paid on time.
