I make $200/night for overnights. One child wakes up in the middle of the night but for that money it's worth it.

Plus, we are talking about once a month thing here. Not Overtime every week.

Anyway, OP, start building a babysitter database. Ask your friends if they would't mind sharing your sitter for a night... when you go to parks, approach the ones you see playing and interacting with the kids and mingle, ask if they do overnight, get their contacts, get to know some of them till you trust a few.
What you are asking is absolutely reasonable, there is no reason you shouldn't have a night out with your husband specially if you are leaving your children in responsible trustworthy care.

I was an aupair and here and there my host and I worked out extra babysitting because hello - extra money. And any time I had plans when she needed these extra hours(I mean aside my schedule) I'd politely decline and she would call someone else.

For a 10 hour overnight stay, I think you could find someone quite easily at $100 (which is a minimum) and definitely at $150 even with the once-nightly waking of your infant. I'm an MB and have seen this question asked and answered on my moms group and $100 is quite common. I think many caregivers would be happy to make an easy $100 and at once a month, at little inconvenience to their lives.

If you do this every month to ap, you will be looking at rematch.

100-150 is for kids who sleep through the night. It needs to be hourly if your kids wake up.

We have two kids, one of whom is an infant who wakes up once per night most nights (occasionally he does not wake up at all). We have an au pair who is limited to ten hours per day and 45 hrs/ wk. My DH and I are just swamped between kids, work, etc and I think it would be great for us to be able to escape for a night, once per month. I'm thinking like a Friday- au pair could stay on duty until 9:30 or so - kids would be fast asleep of course- and I would need someone to hold the fort down until 7:30 the next morning when I would have the au pair take over again. This would basically entail sleeping and getting up once to give the baby a bottle.

How much would this cost me? $100-$150/night?
