I don't think you need to do anything, OP, given that you no longer employee this person. If you are asked for a reference, you can either decline to give one or have a conversation with her about it to get more information. But beyond that, there's not much to do (except let yourself feel disappointed that things may not have been as you thought they were--I'm sorry!) I would also take a report like that from anyone other than a close friend with a grain of salt, though, given that you weren't there. It may well have happened--but it's also possible that it didn't, or that something else happened that the onlooker misinterpreted. (The pinching part in particular is very odd.) Definitely something I'd want to dig into if she still worked for you, but she doesn't.

I'm confused...Did this happen when you employed her? What difference does it make? CPS won't investigate and since you don't have proof that this happened, I certainly wouldn't say anything if anyone called for a reference.

CPS will not investigate this. There is no evidence of harm and nothing but hearsay.

You have nothing but hearsay, OP. You are bashing g a former nanny without proof of anything. I hope she finds out and sues your behind off.

You really need to educate yourself a bit more. A CPS investigation will come up in a background check and the investigation alone can be enough to bar you from employment or just be frowned upon by a future employer. This is true even if the charges are unfounded.

Right...because no one has ever been brought to trial or sent to jail and had their lives completely destroyed by a false accusation. No sane person would want to be investigated for something they didn't do. First, it's humiliating. Second, just because you didn't do anything wrong, doesn't mean the person doing the investigating is intelligent enough to figure that out.

Who is this other nanny (the one reporting the incident) and why is she just talking about it now? Why wouldn't she have told you or her employer when the alleged incident happened?

How did you learn of this, OP?

Is the other nanny - the one who told you about your former nanny - reliable? Could she have a grudge against your former nanny?

What you are supposing is extremely serious, OP. You better be damn sure this even occurred before you set out to ruin this former nanny's life.

Do nothing OP. Your child is fine, the nanny no longer works for you, and you have no first hand knowledge of any mistreatment (nor did you have any cause for concern while she worked for you).

My advice is to do absolutely nothing.

If she is your former nanny, what would additional information about incidents that occurred in the past do for your now?

It has come to my attention, that another nanny witnessed our previous nanny being "aggressive" (pinching then hitting our 2 year old daughter in the park). We are obviously devastated to hear this news and are looking for any other additional information. We never noticed anything concerning with this former nanny, great references, and we have a nest camera in our home. She only worked for us for four months due to her school schedule conflicting with her work schedule. This would have taken place at the Livingston Park in Chevy Chase, DC. She was employed with us from September-December 2016 and would normally go to the park around 10 am with our children (1.5 yo girl. 4 month old son at that time).
