They all sounds pretty scary. Can your 18 month old get down the stairs ok? We need more info to know if that is dangerous. Is there a baby gate by the stairs and deck?

The only problem I have is with the changing table. I do not think it warrents firing though. Just have a conversation about changing table safety.

Changing table is a problem. The others ones are hard to know without context.

Do you have a Pack and Play or other play yard set up so that she has somewhere to put the kid while she runs to fetch things? It's a lifesaver at that age.

Out of the 3 issues you have , I would definitely have a problem with the changing table he could have fell off and really hurt himself, especially as mobile as a 18 month old is! I always keep one had atleast always on any baby/toddler I change regardless of age.

This one. I have two kids and we literally always kept at least one hand on their bodies at all times when they were on the changing table.

Changing table would be my only issue. having said that though she sounds like she is washing her hands before she touches him or his clothing with poss dirty hands.

Does she know that you have cameras in the home?
If not, it seems a little weird that you would be filming her w/out letting her know.

I don't know how high or what your deck looks like so I cannot comment on that issue.

However it isn't safe leaving a young child unattended on a changing table in my personal opinion.

And if your upstairs and deck are not safe places to leave your son then that is your responsibility to remedy (with baby gates, etc).

I assume you used good judgement as to where you left them, though. Depending on the safety gates and such, 18months is a little young to be left where a child could fall.

You are ridiculous. I stayed at home with my children and I can guarantee you that no one can always have a child in their sight. If you could then you would stay at home. I hope she quits on you.

Would you be ok with this?

We've been using a nanny for about 3 months now for my 18 month old son. We have cameras set up in our house, but kind of stopped checking the footage after a few weeks because it looked like our nanny knew what she was doing. I checked the footage the other day and noticed our nanny would leave our son unattended for a few minutes quite often, here are some examples:

- Left son on deck while she put something away inside the house
- Left son upstairs while she grabbed his jacket in the basement
- Left son on changing table by himself while she washed her hands

This was just two days worth of footage I watched too. My husband thinks I'm overreacting but I feel like leaving him on the deck by himself is pretty dangerous at 18 months.
