We get ours through Homework Solutions insurance partner. There is little to no difference in the rates; a single household employee WC policy will run + or - 1K a year. I'm in VA and we paid $980 in October.

Have your homeowner's insurance quote you for this. It is expensive, not surprised at the $1,200 a year quote.

Agree with PP, Breedlove doesn't offer workers comp. They refer out to a company that is super expensive. I would check out GTM payroll and see what services they offer and what they are charging for workers compensation. The policy Breedlove quoted me was like $1200 a year, and it couldn't be paid monthly.

As long as the insurance company is licensed to write workers’ comp insurance in Maryland, you'll be fine.

FYI...Breedlove outsources their workers' comp. GTM Payroll Services does workers' comp in house so you'd have one account for everything.

I am trying to figure all of this out:

I know in MD we need worker's comp insurance. If I go through a payroll service (e.g. Breedlove) will this be sufficient or do I need something else?

We're having a nanny 8 hours per week. All of this extra is just insane.
